Debt of Honour DVD-including One Boy and Some go Early

A thought provoking selection of three films which provide the stimulus for excellent lessons within Key Stages 2 and 3.

A Debt of Honour is a 25 minute documentary narrated by Michael Palin, explaining the work of the CWGC and the relevance to today’s society. There is a French soundtrack version too, and the option of English or French subtitles.

The DVD also includes One Boy and Some go Early.

Forever India

Forever India is an extensive microsite that engages students in the diversity and significance of the work of the CWGC.  This resource includes lesson stimulus, primary sources, audio and video clips.

The microsite can be used as stand-alone lesson stimulus or as an information source.  It will allow students to learn and reflect on the involvement and sacrifice of more than 160,000 servicemen and women from Undivided India.

One Boy

One Boy is an excellent short film which allows pupils to learn more about a young British soldier killed on the Somme in the First World War.

Let Us Die Like Brothers DVD

Let us Die Like Brothers is an excellent resource which allows pupils to learn about the South African Labuor Corps in The First World War, who sailed to France on the SS Mendi. 607 men drowned in the English Channel in 1917 when the ship was struck by another allied vessel.

This DVD includes three separate videos which can be used with Key Stage Two and Three and is ideal within:

Glory Days

Glory Days is an interactive, online microsite that engages pupils in the history of football and the Two World Wars.  This educational resource engrosses pupils through video and audio clips, animation, primary sources and lesson activities.

Glory Days tells some of the footballer’s stories and looks at how the CWGC commemorates them by recording their details and looking after their graves and memorials.

Glory Days can be used as a teaching resource for Key Stage Two and links in perfectly with:
